"Novotel" Hoofddorp

The construction of a new hotel has started near Hoofddorp station. The Novotel designed by Mulderblauw architects has 314 rooms. Sustainability is an important starting point in the design.

The facades on the ground floor directly adjacent to the public space are made of glass. In this way, the lobby, bar and restaurant are in direct connection with the public area. Much attention has been paid to designing a sustainable hotel. “For example, relatively narrow, vertical windows have been used that lie deep in the façade, resulting in a strong reduction in the required cooling load,” says the architectural firm.
